Tower Hamlets dance consortium

A joined up approach to dance provision in Tower Hamlets.

1st September 2009 - 31st July 2010

Photograph by Rachel CherryAs part of this programme the Tower Hamlets arts and music education service (thames) will work with a range of local providers (see above) to develop and deliver an integrated programme of dance provision.

This will include increased professional development opportunities for teachers and other members of the children’s work force, support for developing dance as part of extended services and programmes of new work for young people who have been identified as having particular abilities or talents.   The programme will be managed out of central foundation school for girl’s – one of the borough’s four specialist performing arts colleges.

The aim of the project is to increase the range and quality of dance provision in the borough. The programme is designed to leave a legacy of improved co-ordination amongst providers as well as clearer progression pathways for young people.
