FYT PUSH co-ordinated a series of family events and evening openings in Portsmouth, Southampton, Gosport and Fareham to celebrate the clocks going forward on 27 March.
Westbury Manor Museum and Ashcroft Arts Centre in Fareham joined forces to create a multi media performance portraying the local World War II experience. Integr8 Dance worked with a group of 39 young people to create innovative street dance performances while 131 Design created 8 short films incorporating archive material and oral history from veterans.
The Museum was dressed with sandbags and taped windows with several jeeps on display outside. Two performances took place in the courtyard at the front of the museum, with the films projected out through the windows, and attracted audiences of over 600 people.
Apart from being a wonderful performance opportunity for the young dancers, this event created real interest across the generations and generated new audiences for the museum.
