"Royal Liverpool Philharmonic was involved in Find Your Talent from the very beginning when the bid was written. It’s a mixture of allowing us to do what we already do, for example using school concerts but then taking it to the next level, and teaching through live music.
Find Your Talent has given us an amazing network to feed off. We’ve built relationships that we can continue to develop beyond the end of the project, or build on these relationships to create ‘super projects’.
Find Your Talent gets young people to engage with all the culture that is on offer in Liverpool, not just music, and can introduce them to other cultural activities in their area.
Setting up projects that are sustainable in schools is very important. We want to set up a legacy in the schools, even if we’re not going to be involved in it in the future. We’re thinking long term with these projects.
We are striving to offer the children the very best arts we can give them and also develop local talent form Liverpool. We want to make them aware of what’s going on here at the Philharmonic, and that it’s a place for them. We want them to think of it as their environment.
There have been so many successes coming out of the projects – the kids have been buzzing about it. It's great to know that you’re setting up something that has long term benefits."
