This Continuing Professional Development programme brings together 12 primary teachers and 12 dance practitioners from a variety of dance forms. The training enables partnerships to develop the exploration of dance in curriculum delivery – addressing issues including engaging boys, SEN and how to spot and nurture Gifted and Talented young people. The training is underpinned by latest curriculum development and examines how to embed dance and kinaesthetic learning across all areas of the curriculum.
The project aims to create a network of practitioners and teacher partnerships skilled to disseminate ideas and good practice throughout Leeds. Active Learning Dance also aims to promote signposting opportunities for young people identified as having potential talent in dance.
